Physical activity interventions in older adults with a cognitive impairment: A critical review of reviews

This critical review explores the material on physical activity combined with cognitive stimulation interventions in older adults impairment and/or dementia. A critical, systematic, of method was used, considering four electronic databases: WEB OF SCIENCE, SCOPUS, MEDLINE, and COCHRANE ELECTRONIC LIBRARY. The search terms “exercise,” “physical activity,” “cognitive impairment,” “dementia,” “systematic review” were used. All available reviews marked against predetermined inclusion exclusion criteria. There 32 that met combination various types training aerobic exercises most frequently reported interventions; meanwhile, dual task programs (combining exercise stimulation), functional along combination, as well strength, stretching, or balance workouts also reported. evidence is compelling; can improve health by ensuring cognitive, psychological, behavioral benefits. Overall, mental people living dementia: there sufficient to recommend multimodal exercise.
